TEEDRA MOSES: BE YOUR GIRL
Every time some pre-programmed moron approaches a DJ booth and asks for 'some R&B like Rihanna', it should be perfectly legal to beat them savagely with a cricket bat whilst screaming 'THIS is real R&B!' Teedra is a highly under-appreciated artist on the edge of the 'nu-soul' movement, and this cut has it all - mellow vocals, sublime instrumentation, and some great shots of Times Square in the video too.
It's so telling that robot stooges like Ga Ga and Kesha sell millions, while the likes of Teedra never make it beyond the underground. Still, just keeps the music that much more precious for us connoisseurs, I guess.
