MARK DEVLIN GUESTS ON SAGE OF QUAY RADIO PODCAST

This is likely to be the only radio interview I do this year as I throw myself into writing my new book. A great two-hour chat with Mike Williams, aka Sage of Quay, where we get into some different kind of stuff - spiritual and consciousness issues, as well as reflecting on mind-control and social engineering through popular culture, and some different-from-usual slants on the whole Paul Is Dead saga!

(Audio-only download version coming soon.)

GOOD VIBRATIONS PODCAST, VOL. 101: MIKE ANGEL - REFLECTIONS ON ACID HOUSE

With 2017 marking the 30th anniversary of the UK partying revolution known as Acid House, music industry veteran and old-school raver Mike Angel returns to offer some perspectives on this movement.

The ‘Second Summer Of Love’ as it came to be dubbed, led, in turn, to open-air raves, then the UK superclubs, before paving the way for EDM - or Electronic Dance Music - to be exported to the rest of the world. It’s now a colossal scene, influencing the lives of millions of young clubbers all over the world. We reflect on whether a movement with this level of reach would have been allowed to evolve naturally, or whether it bears the hallmarks of the military intelligence and social engineering institutions, as the original ‘Summer Of Love’ in California has now been shown to have done.

Whereas LSD went hand in hand with the psychedelic music of the 1960s, the soundtrack to the electronic dance music of the late 80s and beyond was MDMA/ Ecstasy. Where did all the pills come from, and why were they allowed to be distributed when the authorities could have cracked down much harder if they’d chosen to?

SOULFUL DANCE SOUNDS AT THE SSW7 WEEKENDER, 9-11 JUNE 2017

Having spent last year on the conference and talk circuit, I’m looking to do more DJ gigs this year between the writing of the new book. On that note, I’m looking forward to dropping a set in the lounge at the SSW7 Weekender, on the English/ Scottish border, in June, amid a great line-up of soulful dance acts. This one looks well worth reaching as a worthy alternative to the now-defunct Southport Weekender. Full details in the attached article:

GOOD VIBRATIONS PODCAST., VOL. 100: DARREN WILLIAMS - THE 2016 WRAP-UP

Our 100th episode sees returning guest, independent researcher Darren Williams, offering his alternative review on that most eventful of years that was 2016. Darren gives his original slant on the Celebrity Death Cull that saw an unfeasible amount of famous death announcements book-ended by David Bowie and George Michael, as well as the spate of ‘terror event’ announcements during the Summer months. He offers possible explanations for why so much of note occurred during these 12 months, over and above any other.

Darren has produced a comprehensive set of notes and references for the findings he presents in the podcast, as well as many more, which can be accessed here:

THE SWING SHIFT, GALAXY 101. 29/5/98

An episode of the late-night Swing Shift from '98 with the tail end of DJ Kim & MC Kelz in the mix, and interview with Tony Bones & Mr Live in New York, and a live ragga dancehall DJ mix from Lashes Degree.

THE FIRST 'JUST BUGGIN' SHOW, 10/1/07

Ten years ago today I broadcast the first episode of my Just Buggin’ show on 107.9FM in Oxford. I had a very enjoyable three and a half-year run on Wednesday nights, delivering strictly underground, real-deal hip-hop, with none of the nasty commercial bullshit that was starting to get seriously bad in 2007. Happy memories.
