ED O.G & DA BULLDOGS: I GOT TA HAVE IT (1991)

Boston's a city rarely revered in the same light as Atlanta, New Orleans, Cali, or any other non-New York locations in hip-hop. It certainly has its underground scene, however, and one of the strongest exponents for the past two decades has been Ed O.G.

Ed recently got the heads of hip-hop's more mature and discerning listeners nodding with his joint album alongside Masta Ace, 'Arts And Entertainment', (with his name seemingly switched up to Edo G, for some reason.) Back in '91, however, this was the boom-bap slammer that put him on the map. Based around a pimped-out sax sample and sleek, rolling beat, it joined 'Be A Father To Your Child', 'Bug-A-Boo' and 'Life Of A Kid On The Ghetto' the same year.
